Arnold FriemanArnold “Arnie” Freiman

Ph.D., M.Div., M.Ed., CFP

Founder, President and Chief Creative Officer

As the founder and visionary behind Sophus Health, Arnie Freiman’s extensive background as an educator, financial planner, insurance consultant, spiritual guide, community builder and innovator in healthcare delivery, has provided him with a unique perspective on the integration of health, wellness and lifestyle in the workplace. Today he leads Sophus Health, which provides fully integrated Health Programs for employers based on the Five Aspects of Health: physical, financial, spiritual, relational and self, with learning as its foundation, insurance to cover what’s needed and data to measure and support the programs.

Arnie’s background in academia includes designing and implementing community-based internship programs, as well as the first holistic healing educational curriculum at a major university. He co-founded and directed the first school of acupuncture in the United States, and he founded the first school of naturopathic medicine in the state of California. He has also taught financial planning, negotiation, integrative education, community studies and natural health care at the university level.

As a spiritual being, Arnie has served as a social justice and interfaith teacher, as a hospital chaplain, and as a frequent writer, speaker and poet whose passion and purpose is to connect the human spirit with all aspects of life. A long-time successful entrepreneur, Arnie puts his heart and soul into all that he does. When a serious bout with cancer took hold of his life in 1986, he not only survived, he rose above it with greater compassion and conviction that the process of healing can and should be done better. Since then, he has been putting together unique, customized health, wellness and lifestyle programs for leading employers in natural foods, high-tech, education, non-profit, and other industries.
